Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ertuğrul Sarı ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and handles information when you use Classroomtracker (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

The App is developed and operated by Ertuğrul Sarı, an independent developer. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Our Privacy Stance

The App is one teacher's own record of the classes in front of them. Here is the short version:

• We do not require accounts, sign-ins, or email addresses.
• The App has no server of its own. Registers, notes and contact records are never uploaded to us, and we cannot read them.
• Everything you enter is stored only on your device, and it leaves the phone only through an export you perform yourself.
• We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we ask for no tracking permission.
• We do use one anonymous product-analytics service, PostHog, to count how the App's own screens are used. It never receives a class name, a child's name, a mark, a note, or anything else you typed. Section 5 says exactly what it does receive.
• Subscriptions are handled by Apple and RevenueCat.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

The App is a record you keep. The teacher types it, and it stays on the device:

• class names, and the children in each class as the teacher refers to them;
• registers: a date, and a mark for each child, with an optional short line;
• notes: a line about what happened, a kind, and the day it happened;
• contact records: that a guardian was contacted, how, and what was said;
• seating plans, and follow-ups the teacher has decided to act on.

All of it is stored in the App's own protected storage on your iPhone. It is not sent anywhere, there is no account it can be attached to, and we have no access to it. The only way it leaves the device is an export the teacher deliberately performs, which is handed to the share sheet on the device and goes wherever the teacher sends it.

Information Collected Automatically

The App does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or browsing history. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not request App Tracking Transparency, because it does not track you across other apps or websites.

The App sends anonymous product-analytics events to PostHog. An event records that something happened and nothing about what it contained: for example that onboarding reached a named step, that the paywall was shown from a named place, that a purchase completed, was cancelled or failed, and that a class was created. Each event carries the App's name, its version, and the build channel.

No event carries the record. Not a class name, not a child's name, not a mark, not a note, not a contact, not how many children are in a class. An outcome and a count, never what you wrote.

PostHog is configured with tracking, autocapture, session replay, screenshot capture, IP-based geolocation, and crash or exception capture all switched off, and it builds no profile for a user who has not signed in, which, in this App, is everyone. It assigns a pseudonymous identifier to your installation of the App. That identifier is unique to this App, is not the advertising identifier, and cannot be linked back to you personally.

If you subscribe, the App receives your subscription state from RevenueCat (Section 5). RevenueCat assigns its own pseudonymous installation identifier, with the same limits.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect the record: not a class, a child's name, a register, a mark, a note, or a contact. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contact details. We do not collect payment card information; all payments are processed by Apple. We do not access your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, calendars, location, motion data, or Apple Health, and the App asks for none of these permissions. We do not collect crash reports or stack traces. We do not use cookies. We do not maintain user profiles.

4. How We Use Your Information

The record you keep is used solely to draw it back to you inside the App: the register for a class and a date, the day's classes, a child's page, the notes and contacts attached to them, seating plans, and follow-ups. It is not transmitted, analysed, aggregated, or used for anything else. There is nowhere for it to go: we operate no server that receives it.

An export is produced on your device, from your own record, for you to send where you choose. We are not a party to it and do not receive a copy.

Anonymous analytics are used only to understand how the App itself is used in aggregate, so the App can be improved: where people stop during onboarding, which entrance to the paywall earns, and whether a release broke something. They are never used to build a profile of you, and never sold.

Your subscription entitlement is used only to decide whether the paid features are unlocked.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to anyone. We share data only in the following limited circumstances.

Apple: All purchases are processed by Apple under your Apple ID. Apple shares with us only the information required to verify your purchase. Apple's Privacy Policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

RevenueCat: RevenueCat manages your in-app subscription on our behalf. It receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, your purchase receipt from Apple, and your entitlement status. PostHog: We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics, on their European Union hosting, configured with tracking, autocapture, session replay, IP-based geolocation and crash capture disabled. It receives the events described in Section 3 and a pseudonymous installation identifier, never a class name, a child's name, a mark, a note, or anything you typed. Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ertuğrul Sarı, our users, or the public. The App operates no server of its own, so there is no record of yours in our possession to disclose: a lawful request would have to be served on Apple, RevenueCat or PostHog, none of which holds your record.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your record is stored on your device, in the App's own protected storage, and persists until you delete it inside the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all on-device data. We keep no copy of it, on any retention schedule, because we never receive it. A record that matters to you should also be exported: an iPhone that is lost, broken or replaced takes the App's copy with it.

Analytics events are retained by PostHog on their EU infrastructure under their retention policy. Subscription state is stored by RevenueCat under theirs, and can be reset by contacting Apple to cancel or refund your purchase.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is a professional record kept by a teacher, and it is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not collect the record at all: the names and marks a teacher enters stay on the teacher's own device and are never sent to us.

A teacher entering a child's name is entering it into their own device, in the App they use to do their job, and it is their responsibility to do so in accordance with their school's rules. We have no access to it, cannot read it, and cannot delete or restore it.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Because we maintain no user account database and receive no record, nearly all of your data resides on your own device, which you control directly.

To delete a note, a contact record or a child's entry, delete it inside the App. To delete everything at once, uninstall the App.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, as well as rights to data portability and to object to processing. Because nearly all data is stored on your own device, most of these rights can be exercised directly within the App. For anything held by PostHog or RevenueCat, contact us at [email protected] with the request and we will pass it on.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact us at [email protected] for any requests.

If you are a resident of Turkey, you have rights under the KVKK (Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698), including rights to access, rectification, and erasure. Contact us at [email protected].

9. Security

The App stores your record in your device's protected storage, which benefits from the encryption iOS applies at rest, and the record never crosses a network we operate. Communications with PostHog, RevenueCat and Apple's purchase services are protected by HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Your device's own passcode, and your backups, are the protection the record actually relies on.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, through a notice in the App or the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
