This Privacy Policy describes how Ertuğrul Sarı ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and handles information when you use Days Left (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you use the App, you may create countdowns with the following details: a title (free text), a target date, an icon you pick from a curated set, a colour, and optional reminder times. You may also choose the App's accent colour, appearance and language. All of this lives on your device, in a private store shared only between the App and its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. We have no access to it.

Information Collected Automatically

The App sends anonymous product-analytics events to PostHog. An event records that something happened and nothing about what it contained: for example that onboarding reached a named step, that the paywall was shown from a named place, that a purchase completed, was cancelled or failed, that notification permission was asked for and what the answer was, and that a countdown was created. Each event carries the App's name, its version, and the build channel.

No event carries anything you wrote or chose. Not a countdown's title, not its date, not its colour or icon, not the number of days it has left. A count and an outcome, never a content.

PostHog is configured with tracking, autocapture, session replay, screenshot capture, IP-based geolocation, and crash or exception capture all switched off, and it builds no profile for a user who has not signed in — which, in this App, is everyone. It assigns a pseudonymous identifier to your installation of the App. That identifier is unique to this App, is not the advertising identifier, and cannot be linked back to you personally.

If you subscribe, the App receives your subscription state from RevenueCat (Section 5). RevenueCat assigns its own pseudonymous installation identifier, with the same limits.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contact details. We do not collect payment card information; all payments are processed by Apple. We do not access your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, calendars, location, motion data, or Apple Health. We do not collect crash reports or stack traces. We do not use cookies. We do not maintain user profiles.

4. How We Use Your Information

Your on-device countdowns and settings are used solely to draw your year and your countdowns inside the App and on your Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets.

Reminders are scheduled by the App on your device, from the date and times you set for each countdown. The notification text is composed locally on your iPhone. We do not have access to your notification settings or your reminder history.

Analytics events are used only to understand how the App itself is used in aggregate — where people stop during onboarding, which entrance to the paywall earns, whether a release broke something — so the App can be improved. They are never used to build a profile of you, and never sold.

Your subscription entitlement is used only to decide whether the paid features are unlocked.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to anyone. We share data only in the following limited circumstances.

Apple: All purchases are processed by Apple under your Apple ID. Apple shares with us only the information required to verify your purchase. Apple's Privacy Policy applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

RevenueCat: RevenueCat manages your in-app purchase and subscription on our behalf. It receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, your purchase receipt from Apple, and your entitlement status. PostHog: We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics, on their European Union hosting, configured with tracking, autocapture, session replay, IP-based geolocation and crash capture disabled. It receives the events described in Section 3 and a pseudonymous installation identifier — never a countdown, a title, a date, or anything you typed. Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ertuğrul Sarı, our users, or the public.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your countdowns, accent colour, appearance, language and reminder preferences are stored on your device and persist until you delete them within the App or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App removes all on-device data.

Analytics events are retained by PostHog on their EU infrastructure under their retention policy. Subscription state is stored by RevenueCat under theirs, and can be reset by contacting Apple to cancel or refund your purchase.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Because we maintain no user account database, nearly all of your data resides on your own device, which you control directly.

To delete all on-device data, including every countdown and setting, uninstall the App.

To turn off reminders for a single countdown, open it and turn its reminder off. To turn off notifications entirely, go to Settings → Notifications → Days Left on your iPhone and turn off Allow Notifications.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, as well as rights to data portability and to object to processing. Because nearly all data is stored on your own device, most of these rights can be exercised directly within the App. For anything held by PostHog or RevenueCat, contact us at [email protected] with the request and we will pass it on.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact us at [email protected] for any requests.

If you are a resident of Turkey, you have rights under the KVKK (Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698), including rights to access, rectification, and erasure. Contact us at [email protected].

9. Security

The App stores your data in your device's protected storage, which benefits from the encryption iOS applies at rest. Communications with PostHog, RevenueCat and Apple's purchase services are protected by HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, through a notice in the App or the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
